CBD chai recipe - masala tea
Since my husband and I were young, the smell of masala chai has always conjured up memories of warmth and family. The intoxicating aroma of the various spices marrying together in a pan of hot water and milk brought a sense of comfort.
Whenever family or friends would come over a pot of masala chai was guaranteed to be on the stove to sip later with some tasty snacks and some chit chat. Still today my husband and I make a pot of masala chai almost every day, so we can take time out of our busy schedules and just sit together and talk. So, it is very important that the chai has the perfect blend of ingredients.
Many recipes have been passed down from generations, all with slightly different variations. The beauty of the chai is that it can be adapted to suit your taste and needs. Some people add ginger when they have an upset stomach because of gingers natural medicinal qualities. Some will substitute sugar for jaggery goor (a combination of two products: sugar cane and date palm tree) for sweetness.
In our household we use pretty much the following ingredients every time we make chai with the addition of our premium CBD oil.
- Fennel seeds (1 pinch)
- Cinnamon Powder (or you can use cinnamon sticks)
- Cardamom (4 pods crushed)
- Black tea bags x2
- Sugar x2 teaspoons (adjust to your liking)
- Milk
- elitemii CBD oil 20%
Process
To start, you will need to add some water to a pan and put on the stove to boil. Add all your spices (Fennel, cinnamon, cardamom) along with the sugar (you can add more or less sugar depending on your taste) and tea bags.
Wait for the mixture to come to a boil and put the heat on low and let it simmer for a couple of minutes and then add in your milk. I like my Chai milky so i add extra, but you can make less if you desire.
Let the Chai simmer on the stove for a few minutes, the longer you leave it, the better the flavour will be.
Lastly, pour the chai into your favourite mug and add a few drops of elitemii CBD for some added goodness! Don't worry the CBD oil will not alter the taste of the Chai. And now you can simply enjoy!
We would love to see you make your own Chai, tag us in your socials @elitemii if you make one!
